Amigurumi Plush Crochet Care and Use Instructions
Choking Hazard:
I use safety eyes in some of my plushies, inspect for damage and loose items before each use.
Use only with adult supervision.
May not be suitable for children under 3 years of age.
If you have purchased any of my amigurumi animals, you might be wondering how to clean or wash them.
Unless stated otherwise, these instructions will work on all of my plushies.
*If you purchased an amigurumi item from somewhere else, these instructions will likely work, but check to be sure the materials used are machine washable/dryable first.
Washing your plushie:
All of the materials used in the amigurumis I create are machine washable. However, if you choose to, you may hand wash or spot clean your plushie.
To machine wash:
I recommend placing your plushie in a pillow case (Make sure you tie the pillowcase closed so it stays inside.) or garment bag to protect it from rubbing against other items in the wash. This will help keep it from pilling. Then wash on a delicate cycle in cold water.
Drying your plushie:
All of the amigurumis I make can be machine or air dried.
To air dry:
First use a towel to gently roll it in and squish the excess water out first, then lay flat to dry in the shade. DO NOT wring it out as this will cause the plushie to become misshaped.
To machine dry:
I recommend keeping your plushie in a pillow case or garment bag to protect it. Dry on a LOW heat setting.
What if my plushie looses its shape?
If your plushie gets a little out of shape from washing or playing with it, you can squish and pull it a bit to reshape it. However, DO NOT try to reshape it when it is wet! Wait until it is dry. Pulling it while wet can loosen and stretch the yarn, permanently making your amigurumi misshapen.
Care Instructions For Your Resin Pieces
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat
If the product has softened due to heat, bring it into a room temperature area until it has hardened again
Hand wash only with mild soap and water
Avoid contact with corrosive substances such as isopropyl alcohol and acetone.
